Stanford Faces Santa Clara In Fall Exhibition Games

Stanford, Ca - Stanford softball fans will have a great opportunity to get a look at the 2007 Cardinal squad when Stanford hosts exhibition games on Saturday and Sunday against Santa Clara University.

Doubleheaders on both days will start at 11 a.m. at the Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium. Admission is free.

Stanford will field another exciting, nationally-ranked team in 2007 under head coach John Rittman who is entering his tenth season on The Farm. Stanford returns several key veterans from a squad that chalked up a 41-18 record, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth straight season. Rittman and his coaching staff also recruited an outstanding freshman class.

On Saturday, November 4, the Stanford varsity will face the Alumni in a game that is slated to start at noon.

The 2007 Stanford season officially begins on Feb. 9-11 when the Cardinal travels to the Kajikawa Classic in Phoenix, Arizona. The home opener is slated for Feb. 13 against Sacramento State.
