IRVING, Texas - Colorado freshman Nikki Marshall received high honors on Monday for her play this weekend at Kansas, being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, as well as being named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time.

Marshall netted two goals on Friday during the Buffaloes' 4-0 rout on Kansas, making the freshman forward Colorado's record-holder for single season goals with 14 scores on the year, breaking senior Katie Griffin's record of 12 that was set last season.

The Mead, Colo., native also tied her own record for consecutive games with a goal (4), and is the first Buffalo to lead the Big 12 Conference in points and goals at the end of the regular season.

Her five game-winning goals ties Colorado's single season record, along with her other school records this year, which include most goals in a game (4), most points in a game (8), most goals in a three game span (6), most consecutive games with a point (6), and points in a season (31).

Marshall has been the conference's Newcomer of the Week on two back-to-back occasions this season, and is the lone Colorado player to be named Offensive Player of the Week this year.
