Oct. 30, 2006

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University safety Josh Barrett has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, following Arizona State's 26-23 overtime win at Washington on Saturday night. The junior from Reno, Nev. became the first Sun Devil with two interceptions in a game since 2004.

Barrett had a game-high nine tackles, including five solo, to go along with his two interceptions of Washington quarterback Carl Bonnell. He helped the ASU defense limit the Huskies to a season low 148 passing yards.

Barrett and the Sun Devils travel to Corvallis, Ore., this weekend for a match-up with the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. Arizona time from Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
