Volleyball Swept at #6 USC

Los Angeles, Calif. - The Sun Devil volleyball team fell 3-0 to #6 USC Saturday night at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The loss, the fourth straight for ASU, drops the Devils to 11-13 overall, 3-10 in Pac-10 play.

The first game was a hard fought, back and forth contest that saw the teams tied 15 times and also featured five lead changes. Ultimately it was the .419 hitting percentage by the Women of Troy that proved to be too much, as USC took the first game 30-25. The Women of Troy started game two hot, forcing ASU into ten attack errors to claim a 30-24 victory. The country's sixth ranked team never trailed in the third and final game, taking it 30-19 to earn the sweep.

ASU hit .201 on the evening, led by the 12 kills and .421 hitting percentage of Paige Mittelstaedt. Tierra Burnley added eleven kills while Sydney Donahue led the team with ten digs.

The Sun Devils now return home to host the Oregon State Beavers Friday night at 7 p.m. and the Oregon Ducks Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena.
