Keller Wins Twice In Loss To Arizona

Senior Kalyn Keller won the 200y fly and the 500y free and junior Brittany Allen won the 1000y free to highlight the No. 6 USC women's swimming and diving team's efforts in a 128-57 loss to the No. 5 Wildcats in a Pacific-10 Conference dual meet on Friday (Nov. 10) at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium.

Keller won the 200y fly in 1:59.76 and took the 500y free in 4:44.89, breezing to a win and an NCAA automatic qualifying time. She is the second Trojan to post an NCAA hard cut, joining teammate Amanda Weir, who has three. Weir did not compete Friday (coach's decision). Keller also posted an NCAA consideration time in the 200y free (1:49.56), taking second.

Allen's win in the 1000y free came in 9:55.95 as she out-touched Arizona's Joni Zimmerman at the wall (9:56.07).

Junior Emily Goetsch improved upon her `B' cut in the 200y fly (2:02.15) while junior Renee Viveros posted an NCAA consideration in the same event in 2:02.19.

Junior Hayley McGregory took second in the 200y back in 2:00.43 (`B' cut) and junior Whitney Hentzen's 4:53.20 in the 500y free was also a `B' cut.

Rebecca Soni, the defending NCAA champ in the 200y breast who is still regaining strength after off-season open heart surgery, posted an NCAA `B' cut in the event in 2:14.67.

The USC women host the No. 22 Sun Devils on Satruday (Nov. 11) at noon.
