Nov. 17, 2006

TEMPE, Ariz. - One night after winning a thriller in five games from Washington State, the Sun Devils of Arizona State were unable to pull the upset as they fell 3-0 in Seattle to the #2 ranked Washington Huskies. The loss put the Devil's season mark at 14-14, 6-11 in the Pac-10.

The Huskies were dominant from the outset, as they took game one 30-22 behind a .350 hitting percentage. Game two was no different, as the Huskies forced ASU into seven attacking errors on their way to another 30-22 win and a 2-0 lead in the match. The nation's second ranked team was able to close things out from there, hitting .351 to take game three 30-23 and the match 3-0.

Nina Reeves led the way for the Sun Devil offense, recording 17 kills in the loss. Sydney Donahue recorded 20 digs, extending her own school single season and career digs records.

The Sun Devils will now return home to close out the regular season on Senior Night when they host their in-state rival, the Arizona Wildcats Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The match begins at 7 p.m., but Sun Devil seniors Nina Reeves, Tierra Burnley and Nicole Morton will be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
