Sun Devil Softball Inks Six Players

TEMPE, Ariz. -  The Arizona State University Softball program is proud to announce the 2007 graduates who have signed National Letters of Intent to attend ASU.  This class is very athletic and is loaded with power and speed.  We are looking forward to these student athletes arriving on our campus and believe they possess the qualities that embody what it means to be a Sun Devil.

Jessica DeFreitas - IF


Jessica is an All-American from CentralArizonaCollege who will transfer to ASU with the 2007 class.  She was the ACCAC player of the year her freshman year at Central.  She led the conference in most statistical categories including Hits, Runs, and Triples.  She was second in the conference in Batting Average and Stolen Bases.  Jessica is a HamiltonHigh School grad which is located in ChandlerArizona.


Krista Donnenwirth - SS


Krista is an All-State performer from CapistranoValleyHigh School in Mission ViejoCA.  In her junior year Krista was in the top 10 in almost every statistical category in OrangeCounty.  She was 2nd in Homeruns, 3rd in RBI's and Walks, 6th in Batting Average, and 9th in Runs scored.  Many regard her as the best 2007 hitting shortstop in the nation.  Her father Bill is an ASU graduate.


Dani Rae Lougheed - OF


Dani Rae is an outfielder from ScottsdaleChristianAcademy in PhoenixArizona.  Dani Rae was a member of the Arizona Storm select program.  She is an All-League and All-State performer.  Dani Rae coaches with her junior high team and is an Honor Roll Student.


Sarah Rice - C


Sarah is from  AlisoNiguelHigh School in Aliso Viejo CA.  She was a member of the 2005 National Champion Orange County Batbusters.  She is an All League 1st teamer and holds her school records for RBI's in a season and Batting Average.  At Aliso Niguel, Sarah played for Coach Joe Miller who is an ASU Baseball Alumnus.


Lesley Rogers - OF


Lesley is from AyalaHigh School in Chino HillsCA.  She was a member of the 2005 National Champion Orange County Batbusters.  She currently plays for Marty Tyson's Corona Angels.  Lesley was the Sierra League Batting Champion and garnered All-League and All-State honors.  Her mother Rebecca is an ASU graduate.


Mandy Urfer - 1B/3B


Mandy is an All-State corner from OrangeLutheranHigh School in OrangeCA.  She was a member of the California Raiders National Championship team in 2004.  During her Junior Year, she was a major force in OrangeCounty.  She was the MVP of her team and was tied for 2nd in the league (with Donnenwirth) for homeruns.  Mandy is a member of the National Society of HS Scholars and the Honor Society.
