Alex Brink Named To All-Academic District VIII First Team

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State junior quarterback Alex Brink has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII first team, it was announced recently. Brink was the only Cougar named to the team.

The award marks the second straight year Brink has been named to the All-District VIII first team. A sport management major with a 3.54 grade point average, the Eugene, Ore. native has thrown for 2,899 yards this season, completing 241 of 396 passes with 19 touchdowns. He leads the Pacific-10 Conference in total offense at 242.3 yards per game, 19th nationally, and is second in passing at 241.6 ypg. He was named Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns in a win at UCLA which followed a 20-for-23 performance in a win over Oregon. He set a school record by completing his final 17 passes in that contest.

Brink was one of seven Pac-10 players to make the all-district first team.
