STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Jayne Appel scored 15 points, Jillian Harmon had 14 and Candice Wiggins added 13 to help No. 14 Stanford rout Utah 74-47 on Saturday.

Cissy Pierce also finished in the doubles figures, scoring 10 for the Cardinal (5-3) in their third straight victory.

Utah has lost all nine meetings with Stanford, the only Pac-10 school it has not beaten. The Utes are 46-34 against the rest of the Pac-10.

Stanford and Utah last met in the second round of the 2005 NCAA tournament in Fresno. Both teams reached the final eight last year, with the Utes making it for the first time in program history.

Stanford opened the second half with a 14-1 run to take 53-26 advantage, with Kristen Newlin connecting on a couple of key baskets. The Cardinal played the final 20 minutes without Wiggins.

Stanford center Brooke Smith, in foul trouble early, was held scoreless for the first time in her career.

Utah was within four at 21-17 after Heidi Carlsen made a pair of free throws with just under eight minutes to play in the first half.

The Cardinal scored 14 of the next 16 points as the Utes committed five turnovers. Stanford made its final six shots of the half to take a 39-25 edge into intermission.
