Hoops for Health Classic Revisited in Special 'All-Access' Sun Devil Insider on Fox Sports Net AZ
Jan. 16, 2007
The Arizona State women's basketball team's win over Texas Tech in the second ever outdoor women's basketball game held last month at Chase Field will be featured in a special 'All-Access' edition of the Sun Devil Insider, debuting on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. MT on Fox Sports Arizona.
The Sun Devil Insider goes behind the scenes of the 'Hoops for Health Classic,' which included a Health Expo prior to the game. The 30-minute show will revisit all of the important moments from the evening and will include in-game sound from ASU head coach Charli Turner Thorne, who wore a wireless microphone during the game. Sun Devil fans will be able to see excerpts from Turner Thorne's pre-game, halftime and post-game talks.
The show will also capture the immediate reaction of the Sun Devil sideline when rain, which eventually brought a halt to the game, began to fall with 4:18 left in the contest.
In addition to its coverage of last month's outdoor game, the Sun Devil Insider will also have a feature on the first ever outdoor women's basketball game which showcased the Sun Devils against the Tennessee Lady Vols on December 27, 2000. Turner Thorne and former Sun Devil Leah Combs reflect on the historic game, which drew 16,782 people to the same venue (then named Bank One Ballpark) as last month's game.
The show will air a second time on Tuesday evening at 9:30 p.m.
Currently No. 10 in the latest AP poll, the Sun Devils (16-2, 6-1 Pac-10) return to action on Thursday when they host UCLA at 11 a.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in the 'Sparky's Kids to College Field Trip presented by Wells Fargo.'
