Swimming To Face Wyoming & Denver

SEATTLE-- The University of Washington men's and women's swimming teams continue life on the road with a pair of dual meets this week vs. Wyoming and Denver. The Huskies will take on the Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 5 p.m. at Corbett Pool. UW will then take on the Denver Pioneers on Friday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. in El Pomar Natatorium.
Washington's men (0-2) are coming off a 154-103 loss to No. 24 Brigham Young last week and are looking for their first dual meet win of the season. The UW women are 1-2 in dual meets this season and take the pool for the first time since winning the UC Irvine Sprint and Distance Invitationals on Jan. 6.
Thursday's dual meet marks the first for Wyoming since mid-November. The Cowboys are 1-1 on the season, while the Cowgirls are 4-0.
The teams last met two weeks ago at the UC Irvine Invites. Washington's women won both the sprints and distance invites while the Cowgirls finished second in the sprints and third in the distance. The Cowboys finished second, one spot ahead of Washington, in both the sprints and distance invites.
Denver's men are ranked sixth in the collegeswimming.com mid-major poll and DU's women are ranked 18th. The Pioneer men are coming off a win over Missouri, while the women are coming off wins over Missouri and Arkansas on Jan. 6.
