Women's Track & Field Opens Up Indoor Season in Seattle on Friday

The UCLA women's track and field team will open up the indoor season on Friday and Saturday as they head to Seattle, WA for the Washington Invitational.

The Bruins will take a small team, primarily made up of distance runners and jumpers to the meet, as they ease into the competition year. The women will compete in the 800m, mile, 4x100m and 4x400m relays, high jump, pole vault, long jump and triple jump.

All-Americans Ashley Caldwell (outdoor 1500m), Jacqueline Nguyen (outdoor pole vault) and Renee Williams (outdoor triple jump) will be in action this week. Rhonda Watkins, the 2006 West Region long and high jump champion will make her indoor debut for UCLA this weekend, competing in the long jump.

Transfer Keneisha Creary will make her debut in the high jump, while freshmen Rosa Magana and Krishna Curry will open up in the 800m.
