#23 Women's Tennis Blanks NAU 7-0

TEMPE, Ariz. - In their ninth meeting, the lady Sun Devils stepped up on Friday to keep their record flawless against NAU as they pulled off a perfect 7-0 win over the Lady Jacks with not one singles match going into three sets.

The Sun Devils came out swinging in doubles as the No. 8 doubles team in the nation, Kady Pooler and Roxanne Clarke won their first regular duel match as they beat NAU's Susan McClelland and Katie Schurr 8-4. Their fellow Devil duos of Rebecca Rankin and Nadia Abdala and Jessica Leitch and Laila Abdala sealed the pointl, both blanking their Lumberjack opponents 8-0.

In singles action, freshman Nadia Abdala played her first collegiate match in the No. 1 spot, where she blanked Patrice Biemold 6-1, 6-0. Four other Devils also notched perfect 6-0 sets in their matches including Roxanne Clarke's perfect 6-0, 6-0 win over Paij Porter.

In their nine meetings with the Lumberjacks, the Sun Devils are now 9-0 against them with a perfect score of 67-0.

The Sun Devils move to a flawless 2-0 on the season and will hit the courts again this weekend as they take on Cal Poly Sunday, February 28 at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center. The match is set to kick-off at 10:00 a.m. MST.
