The 2007 version of the Annual ASU Baseball Alumni game featured an offensive explosion by this year's team, as the current Devils beat the former Devils 22-5 in six innings at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.

The 2007 Devils seven runs in each of the first two innings to jump out to an early lead. The game featured a grand slam by Matt Spencer and a three-run homer by Kiel Roling. Both Spencer and Roling transferred to ASU this spring.

Ten different Sun Devils on the current roster got hits, including four by Eric Sogard and Spencer. Andrew Romine, Tim Smith and Jarred Bogany each had three hits for the Devils.

Freshman lefthander Mike Leake saw his first action as a Devil, starting the game and pitching the first two innings. Leake gave way to Joey Parigi, who threw two before Brian Flores finished the game.

The pregame festivities featured a home run derby, won by Brett Wallace with five homers. He beat out current teammate Ike Davis as well as former Devils Brooks Conrad, Jeff Larish and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier. Former coach Bobby Winkles was presented with his College Baseball Hall of Fame ring before the game as well.

The Sun Devils open the 2007 regular season next week when they host Southern Utah in a three-game series in Tempe. First pitch Friday night is set for 7 p.m. at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
