SEATTLE (AP) - Jon Brockman matched his career high 25 points Saturday as the Washington Huskies completed their first weekend Pac-10 sweep this season with a 91-74 victory over the Oregon State Beavers.
The Huskies (13-7, 3-6 Pac-10), who beat seventh-ranked Oregon Thursday, 89-77, are now 13-1 at home but 0-6 on the road. Brockman, the 6-foot-7 sophomore forward, made nine of 12 shot attempts and was 7 of 8 at the free-throw line. He had been averaging 13.2 points per game.
OSU (9-13, 1-8), which has lost four in a row, was led by Josh Tarver with 22 points. Kyle Jeffers, hitting 7 of 8 attempts, finished with 14 points.
Justin Dentmon contributed 17 points for the Huskies while 7-foot freshman center Spencer Hawes scored 13 points. Hawes blocked one shot to break the school's freshmen record for blocks with 33.
Washington couldn't shake the Beavers in the first half, but moved to a 47-40 lead two minutes into the second half as Brockman scored the Huskies first 6 points. Ryan Appleby, the team's primary long-distance shooter, made his lone 3-pointer at 17:25 for a 50-42 lead.
Back-to-back 3-point plays by Hawes and Brockman built the lead to 62-45 with 14:10 remaining.
The Huskies would lead by as many as 25 points before the coaches released the reserves. The Huskies, ranked 11th in the country in scoring at 81.8 ppg, scored 51 points in the second half.
Washington opened the game by turning the ball over on its first three possessions without taking a shot and the Beavers took advantage, scooting to a 12-6 lead after four minutes.
The Huskies finally passed the Beavers at 19-18 with 11:25 remaining on a steal and fast-break dunk by Brockman, who went 5-for-5 with 12 points in the half.
But OSU grabbed the lead back and built it to six, 31-25. Washington then outscored the Beavers 14-3 over the next 4:26 and held on for a 41-38 lead by intermission.
