No. 11 California Dominates No. 39 San Diego State

SAN DIEGO - The No. 11 California women's tennis team concluded its road trip to San Diego this weekend with a 7-0 sweep over No. 39 San Diego State, Sunday morning at the Aztec Tennis Center. The Golden Bears improved to 3-0 on the young season and have swept all three matches. Within those three matches, Cal has only lost one doubles match.
Cal won all six singles matches in straight sets. No. 14 Nina Henkel and No. 34 Marion Ravelojaona each won their matches by the score of 6-0, 6-0. No. 3 Susie Babos defeated the lone ranked player for the Aztecs, No. 69 Eliska Krausova, 6-1, 6-3. Krausova was the only player for SDSU to win more than two games against the Bears in singles. She was also one of only two players Cal allowed to win more than one game.
After the tough match 32-ranked senior Zsuzsanna Fodor won yesterday against USD, the reigning Pac-10 singles champion picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alesya Vidov.
In doubles, No. 2 Babos and Fodor picked up another win. The duo beat Krausova and Esther Cadua, 8-2. The Bears other ranked doubles team of No. 12 Henkel and sophomore Daron Moore earned another win as well. They defeated Vidov and Ozge Atalay, 8-5.
Next week Cal travels to Madison, Wisconsin, where it will complete in the ITA National Indoor Team Championships. The tournament runs from Feb. 1-4.
