BERKELEY - California continues its indoor season when it competes in the Husky Classic on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Wash. Senior All-American Giliat Ghebray, junior All-American Alysia Johnson and miler David Torrence will lead the Golden Bears at the University of Washington's meet, Cal's last indoor competition before the MPSF Indoor Championships, which will run Feb. 23-24 also in Seattle.
Dempsey Indoor Facility Details
Dempsey Indoor, Washington's indoor track and field facility, boasts a 307-meter Mondo track and a six-lane straightaway, with five lanes on the curve. The facility also features a 160-foot elevated wooden long jump runway (132 ft. TJ) with rubber overlay, 150-foot elevated wooden pole vault runway with rubber overlay, 80-foot right/left wooden high jump approach area with Mondo overlay, and a reinforced wooden throwing ring.

Bears Take Part in Cal All-Comers Meet
A few Bears competed at the Cal All-Comers Meet on Feb. 3 in Berkeley. Among the notable results included senior Kelechi Anyanwu's discus throw of 52.99 meters (173-10), which moves her to seventh place on Cal's all-time women's discus list. Cal athletes who won events included sophomore Sean Carey in the men's college 800 meters (1:53.03), Giliat Ghebray in the men's college 1500 meters (3:50.63), freshman Rowena Tam in the women's college 1500 meters (4:49.03) and junior Thomas Mack in the men's college 60-meter hurdles (8.11).
