Glissmeyer Leads Trojans At UH-Hilo Invitational
Feb. 7, 2007
Sophomore Tom Glissmeyer fired a 4-under 66 and freshman Jamie Lovemark and senior Joshua Wooding were also under par to pace the No. 7 USC men's golf team on the first day of the 17th annual UH-Hilo Invitational on Wednesday (Feb. 7) at the Waikoloa Village G.C.
The Trojans, seeking their fourth top two finish in five events, finished the first day of the three-day event tied for eighth at 275 (-5), seven shots behind first-place and No. 2 Stanford (268). Oregon State is two back in second (270) with a handful of teams bunched within three shots of USC.
For Glissmeyer, who finished off the fall season with back-to-back 69s, his season-low 66 marked his third consecutive sub-70 round. He is in a seven-way tie for third, two shots behind co-leaders Cameron Tringale (Georgia Tech) and Joseph Bramlett (Stanford).
Lovemark carded his sixth round in the 60s this season with a 3-under 67, tying for 10th. Wooding, meanwhile, turned in a season-low 69 to tie for 34th.
Play continues Thursday and Friday with shot gun starts at 9:30 a.m. (PST) each day.
