Three Former Bruins On U.S. Roster For Friendly Vs. Mexico Wednesday

Former Bruin soccer stars Carlos Bocanegra, Jonathan Bornstein and Jimmy Conrad will play for the U.S. National team against Mexico on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6 pm PT in sold-out University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

Bocanegra and Conrad, who were teammates on UCLA's 1997 NCAA Championship team, are two of nine players on the U.S. roster who played in the 2006 World Cup. Bornstein, a member of two Pac-10 Championship teams in 2004 and 2005, made his U.S. debut on Jan. 20, scoring the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Denmark at The Home Depot Center.

In Youth National Team news, UCLA freshman midfielder Michael Stephens is currently participating in the 2007 Copa Chivas Tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico with the U.S. Under-18 National Team.
