Kantola Leads Bruin Women With a Win in the Pole Vault at Tyson Invite

Ingrid Kantola won the college pole vault with a huge lifetime-best and NCAA provisonal jump of 13-2.50 to lead the Bruin women at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, AR on Saturday. The junior vaulter, whose previous indoor best was 12-7.25, moved to No. 7 all- time at UCLA with the clearance and just outside the top-10 in the nation.
Junior Keneisha Creary also had a huge day in Arkansas, finishing third in the championship section of the high jump with a lifetime-best and NCAA provisional qualifying jump of 5-11.25. The mark moves her into a tie for eighth all-time in UCLA history and was just three centimeters shy of the NCAA automatic qualifier. It also ranks just outside the NCAA's top-10 marks this season.
Junior Renee Williams also picked up an NCAA provisional qualifying mark as she finished sixth in the triple jump with an indoor lifetime-best mark of 41-8.75.
The 4x400m relay team of sophomores Krystin Lacy and Chanelle Curry, senior MacKenzie Hill and sophomore Nicole Leach also achieved an NCAA provisional qualifier as the team finished second with a season-best run of 3:38.92.
In the college 800m, sophomore Allie Bohannon ran an indoor lifetime-best 2:11.02 to win her section and finish eighth overall. Seniors Ashley Caldwell (2:12.38) and Allison Hall (2:15.89, season-best) finished 11th and 21st respectively. Hall won her section, while Caldwell was second in her heat.
