Sam Helvie Finishes Fifth in the Three-Meter

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - California's sophomore diver Sam Helvie finished fifth in the three-meter springboard on the second day of the 2007 Pac-10 Diving Championship on Saturday, in Federal Way, Wash., at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.

Helvie posted a 322.40 in the finals of the event, after he was marked with a 339.20 in the preliminary round. The January Pac-10 Diver of the Month, scored his season-best 381.15 at the Dallas Morning News Invitational.

On Friday, Helvie finished eighth on the one-meter springboard with his score of 277.60.

Javier Rivas scored 276.90, finishing 11th in the preliminary of the three-meter.

The Cal divers will wrap up the Pac-10 Diving Championship on Sunday, in Federal Way, Wash.
