Dates Set For 2007 Mick Haley's USC Girls Volleyball Camps

LOS ANGELES -- Registration has now begun for the 2007 Mick Haley's USC Girls Volleyball Camps this summer. Three camps will take place at the Galen Center Pavilion: the Libero Clinic (July 27-28), the All-Skills Camp (July 28-31) and the Setter Clinic (July 31-August 1).
Libero Clinic: July 27-28
This clinic is designed for all skill abilities and levels. The clinic's agenda will focus specifically on the serve receive and defensive techniques for the back row specialist and libero. The Libero Clinic will focus on body position, footwork, movement skills, platform, contact, and advanced digging techniques. Camp participants will greatly benefit from expert skill instruction and quality repetitions that have allowed our liberos at USC to earn All-America status and to represent their respective national teams (United States and Puerto Rico).
The Libero Clinic will take place over three on court sessions. Here is a tentative schedule:

All-Skills Camp: July 28-31
USC has won back-to-back national championships by developing a style of play that maximizes athletes' abilities in every aspect of the game. Any level player can learn and improve her skills using these techniques regardless of their level of athleticism. At camp, we will focus on passing, defense, blocking, attacking, and serving as well as team play.Ability grouping is used to divide campers into two waves. All campers will receive the same instruction including the introduction of innovative training techniques. The USC coaching staff will be involved daily with assistance from invited guest coaches.

Setter Clinic: July 31-August 1
USC is proud to kick off our inaugural Setter Clinic in the brand new Galen Center Complex. Skill instruction will be for all levels, positions, and abilities looking to improve up their overhand and setting skills. For the first time ever, former USA National Team setter, USA National Team Head Coach, and current USC Head Coach Mick Haley will share the setting secrets that have made him so successful on so many different levels. The setter clinic will focus on the ideal body position, body posture, hand position, release, and footwork patterns. It will also feature practical lessons such as reading the block and defense, situational setting, floor leadership, and play calling.
The Setter Clinic will take place over three on court sessions. Here is a tentative schedule:

General Camp Information:
Ages: 10-18 years old
Location: The training sessions will be held on the USC campus in the brand new Galen Center built exclusively for men's and women's volleyball and basketball.
Coaches: The USC coaching staff, many of the USC players, and experienced guest coaches will provide a great learning environment.
Counselor to Camper ratio: 1:8
Dorms and Meals: Campers will stay and eat in EVK of the New Residential College Building. There will be coaches in the dorms with the campers at all times and the dorms are monitored 24/7 by housing staff. There will be two campers per room. We will accept roommate requests, however if a camper does not have a request, we will pair the campers according to age.
Out of State Campers:
For the campers traveling from out of state, we cannot provide transportation to and from campus. However, we will have a coach at LAX greeting the campers and directing them to a shuttle, which will take them to campus. We will meet the shuttle when it arrives on campus. This will cost approximately $15 each way. Flights should arrive at LAX around 2-3pm on Tuesday and depart around 5-6pm on Friday. If you have questions or concerns with scheduling flights, please feel free to give us a call prior to booking.

All camps include meals, camp t-shirt, volleyball, and a year subscription to Spike Nashbar Vball Magazine.
We can only accept a minimum number of campers so the camp fills up very quickly. To secure a space, campers must register and have submitted the required information and payment.
USC Employee Discount:
Children of current USC Employees are eligible for a $100 discount off the residential and commuter cost. A photocopy of a USC Faculty/Staff ID must be submitted with the parental consent form within two weeks of registering for the camp.
If for any reason you need to cancel your reservation, there is a $75 fee. If the cancellation is made after July 14, 2006, there is a $150 fee. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. There will be no refunds after the start of camp.
