Pacific-10 Championships Next for Cougar Swimming

Who, What, When, Where: Washington State women's swimming travels to Long Beach, Calif. to compete against Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Stanford and Washington in the 2007 Pacific-10 Women's Swimming Championships...the competition begins Wednesday, Feb. 14 and concludes Saturday, Feb. 17...preliminary races begin at 11:00 a.m. each day followed by the finals sessions at 6:00 p.m.

Cougar Recap: WSU concluded the dual meet season by hosting Idaho and Boise State at Gibb Pool Jan. 27...the Cougars swept all 14 events and were led by senior Erin McCleave who won three individual events...McCleave posted back-to-back victories in the 1000 freestyle (10:12.99) and the 200 freestyle (1:51.61)...her third victory came in the 200 backstroke (2:05.74)...senior Kayli Changstrom and freshman Shawan Keller each picked up a pair of individual wins for the Cougars...Changstrom was first in the 200 butterfly (2:09.47) and 500 freestyle (5:09.62)...Keller's victories were in the 200 IM (2:09.97) and the 200 breaststroke (2:23.96).

2007 Pac-10 Championship Preview: The Pacific-10 Conference features some of the top teams in the nation as six teams rank in's Top 25 poll...Stanford moved into the top spot after defeating California Saturday...California is ranked third nationally while Arizona Wildcats are just behind at No. 4...USC is 14th nationally, UCLA is 16th nationally, and Arizona State is No. 23 in the 2006 individual Pac-10 champions are back to defend their crowns...USC's Kalyn Keller came in first in the 500 freestyle (4:41.89) last year while teammate Rebecca Soni finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.10) and the 200 breaststroke (2:08.16)...Stanford's Brooke Bishop returns to defend her title in the 50 freestyle (22.62)...Whitney Meyers of Arizona claimed the 400 IM last season (4:14.18) while teammate Courtney Cashion took first in the 100 freestyle (48.59)...California's Erin Reilly will look to preserve her title in the 200 freestyle (1:45.70) and UCLA's Katie Nelson returns to compete for first in the 1650 freestyle (16:18.00).
