Feb. 13, 2007
USC junior Kaes Van't Hof improved his singles record to 15-3 with two more wins in dual match play last week, and earned himself this week's Pac-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week award.
Van't Hof first clinched USC's 5-2 win over #44 Fresno State with a win from the No. 2 position over Mirko Zapletal 7-6 (6), 6-3. The next day, Van't Hof grabbed a 6-3, 6-2 win over #18 Boise State's Piotr Dilaf 6-3, 6-2 to help improve #15 USC's winning streak to seven straight.
Undefeated at 7-0 on the year, USC is off to its best season start since 1998. With a pair of doubles wins as well from the No. 2 slot, Van't Hof now holds a 6-0 dual match record and 8-1 overall record playing with teammate Robert Farah. The pair's sixth dual match win came in a comeback victory, where Farah/Van't Hof trailed 7-4 before fighting back to win 9-7 and clinch the doubles point against #18 Boise State.
