We have another exciting week full of Pac-10 dual meets. No. 3 STANFORD will travel to Tucson, Ariz. to take on the No. 13 ARIZONA Wildcats on Fri., Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at McKale Center. While two tough teams match up in Arizona, another tough match-up will feature No. 16 OREGON STATE who will host No. 7 UCLA on Fri., Feb 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Gill Coliseum. Just two days later WASHINGTON will travel to take on CALIFORNIA at Haas Pavilion on Sun., Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. Don't miss out on all of the action this week.

STANFORD sophomore Nicole Ourada has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for February 6 - 12 , Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Ourada, a native of Germantown, Wis., and the third Cardinal to be named the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week this season, recorded a season-high and personal best all-around score (39.575) on Fri., Feb. 9 in Stanford's Annual Breast Cancer Awareness event. Ourada's performance propelled her to the top of the all around national rankings. For the first time this season, a Pac-10 Gymnast holds the highest all-around season average. She finished in first place finish on the floor exercise (9.925), second place on the bars (9.875) and the beam (9.925) and fourth on the vault (9.850). Her outstanding performance was principally responsible for the Cardinal's ability to turn in their highest team score of the season in spite of the absence of juniors Liz Tricase and Tabitha Yim.

With its stellar performance in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness event, Stanford shot up in the national rankings this week to No. 3. The Cardinal returns to action hosting Pac-10 opponent No. 13 Arizona Fri., Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Maples Pavilion.

  • ARIZONA - The No. 14 Arizona women's gymnastics team reported its season-best road score to easily defeat host Washington, 195.300-193.925 ... Posting the second highest team score of the season, a 48.875 on bars, every Wildcat earned at least a 9.700, led by junior Karin Wurm's 9.875, which won her the individual bars title for a third consecutive week ... Senior Aubrey Kelly turned in a solid bar set, and received a 9.825 to share second-place honors ... Next week the Wildcats return home to host No. 3 Stanford on Fri., Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at McKale Center.

  • ARIZONA STATE - No. 21 Arizona State women's gymnastics team took second at the annual UNO's Classic with a season-high 196.275. The No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners took first with 196.400 and the California Golden Bears placed third scoring a 190.900 ... Dynamic senior Cassandra Jusino led the Sun Devils, placing second in the all-around with a season-high 39.400 ... Senior April Boone tied for first with a season-high 9.850 ... Arizona State has a week off before they travel to Tucson, Ariz., to take on intrastate rival the No. 14 Arizona on Fri., Feb. 23, at 7:00 p.m.

  • CALIFORNIA - The California women's gymnastics team fell to No. 21 Arizona State and No. 8 Oklahoma on Friday evening in Arizona State's UNO's Classic ... The Golden Bears continued their strength on the floor this season, posting a team score of 48.050 ... Senior Justine Cephus scored a team-high 9.700 in the event. Senior Elyse Wong posted a 9.625, while junior Nicki Wells was credited with a 9.600 ... California returns home on Sun., Feb. 18, to host Washington at 2:00 p.m. at Haas Pavilion.

  • OREGON STATE - The 15th-ranked Oregon State gymnastics team struggled at Stanford finishing third at the Cardinal's Breast Cancer Awareness meet ... OSU scored a season-high on vault in the final rotation but the damage was done in prior rotations ... The Beavers surpassed that 49 point barrier on vault led by Mandi Rodriguez with a 9.900 , a career-high, 9.800, by Brooke Barclay and a return to the lineup by Yuki Lamb, who tallied a 9.850 ... Oregon State gymnastics returns to Gill Coliseum Fri., Feb. 16, to challenge No. 7 UCLA at 7 p.m.

  • STANFORD - Stanford set a new season record with a 197.275 that was more than a point better than No. 15 Iowa State (196.075) and more than three points ahead of No. 11 Oregon State (194.1) ... The Cardinal were led by sophomore Nicole Ourada's personal best all-around performance, a remarkable 39.575 ... Junior Alex Pintchouk also had a career night with a 39.450 and freshman Carly Janiga turned in a solid 39.300 ... Stanford travels south to Tucson, Ariz. to take on Arizona on Fri., Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

  • UCLA - UCLA competed short-handed this week, but fought hard only losing by one tenth of a point to No. 14 Denver 194.900 - 194.800 ... Sophomore Ariana Berlin led the Bruins posting a career-high 39.25 in the all-around and winning the beam apparatus with a 9.875 ... Junior Tasha Schwikert nailed another vault winning the event with an impressive 9.950 ... The Bruins return to action on Fri., Feb. 16, competing against No. 16 Oregon State at 7:00 p.m.

  • WASHINGTON - Washington fell to Arizona (195.300) despite recording its highest team score since 2005 (193.925) ... All five Huskies who scored on bars achieved career-high marks, including Nikki Waiss (9.825), Tori Quandt (9.750), Darcee Schiller (9.725), Natalie Gillan (9.700) and Ashley Houghting (9.600) ... Washington's team score on bars (48.600) was its highest since the 2005 season, while its scores on vault (48.950) and beam (47.900) were its second-highest scores of the year ... The Huskies hit the road to take on California on Sun., Feb. 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Haas Pavilion.
