Cardinal Women Finish Eighth At Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 303 on the final day of competition at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club (par 71, 5,912 yards) in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. The Cardinal's three-round total of 915 (305-307-303) gave them an eighth place finish for the tournament. Pepperdine led wire-to-wire taking home the team title with an 882. Rounding out the top five were Arizona State (891), Florida (901), Oklahoma State (904) and Arizona (907).
Stanford was led by Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana who tied for 14th after carding rounds of 72-77-74 to finish at 10-over par 223. Tangtiphaiboontana recorded two birdies in the final round on holes 12 and 15. Teammate Lauren Todd ended the day tied for 26th overall with a three round score of 228 (79-74-75). Todd collected one birdie on the afternoon (hole 13).
Cardinal Mari Chun tied for 37th on the individual leaderboard with rounds of 76-76-80 for a 232. Chun birdied her first hole this in this morning's shotgun start (hole 7). Ki-Shui Liao moved up from 67th to 58 on the final day, ending the tournament with a 239 (85-80-74). Liao had four birdies today including holes 1, 5, 13 and 15. Angela King rounds out the Stanford competitors placing 67th after carding a 245 (78-84-83).
Pepperdine's Misun Cho grabbed the lead from teammate Jayvie Agojo to take the individual title with a 218. Agojo finished tied for second with four other golfers at 219.
