COMING UP NEXT: Washington State (5-20 overall; 1-14 Pac-10) returns to Beasley Coliseum to host the Washington Huskies (15-11 overall; 8-7 Pac-10)...tip-off will be Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5:00 p.m....the game will be shown live on FSN Northwest.
COUGAR RECAP - No. 20 CALIFORNIA 72, WSU 45: Washington State fell to the No. 20 California Golden Bears 72-45 at Haas Pavilion Feb. 10...Colleen Betteridge led the Cougars with 11 points while Kate Benz picked up six rebounds...neither team scored until the 17:47 mark when California earned the first two points of the game...in the first half, the Cougars were 4-of-8 from the three-point line while the Golden Bears were 0-for-4...California made up the points at the free throw line, however, sinking 13-of-17 attempts...the Golden Bears were paced by Devanei Hampton and Ashley Walker who scored 27 and 25 points, respectively. COUGARS LIVE: Saturday's game will be televised live on FSN Northwest with Cara Capuano and Rhonda Smith-Banchero calling the action from Beasley Coliseum.
A LOOK AT THE HUSKIES: Washington has won two of its last three games, including a 79-76 overtime victory over then-No. 20 California Feb. 8...the Huskies' two-game win streak was snapped however by No. 11 Stanford as the Cardinal took an 80-54 victory Feb. 10...leading the way for the Huskies is Cameo Hicks who is averaging 17.6 ppg and 5.5 rpg...Hicks has tallied double-digit scoring games in 20 of the last 21 games...junior poing guard Emily Florence is leading the conference in steals with a 2.27 steals per game average...as a team Washington, along with Arizona State, is averaging 10.08 steals per game to lead the Pac-10...the Huskies also lead the conference in offensive rebounds, averaging 17.31 per game.
THE WSU-WASHINGTON SERIES: Washington State is 17-54 all-time against Washington...WSU is 3-25 when playing in Pullman...the Huskies have won the last 23 straight games dating back to 1996...the last Cougar victory came Feb. 25, 1995 in Pullman when WSU defeated UW 72-67...earlier this season, Washington took an 88-64 victory over the WSU in Seattle Jan. 20...Marisa Stotler recorded 15 points while four other Cougars scored in double figures.
