With the season nearing it's half-way mark, Pac-10 competition is still fierce. Rivals ARIZONA STATE and ARIZONA match up this week in Tucson on Fri., Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the McKale Center. The 15th-ranked OREGON STATE Beavers, fresh off their win over No. 7 UCLA, travel north to Seattle to take on WASHINGTON and Seattle Pacific on Fri., Feb. 23, at 7:00 p.m. at Bank of America Arena. CALIFORNIA will travel down south to Los Angeles to take on No. 6 UCLA, No. 11 Denver and Cal State Fullerton on Sun., Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion. No. 3 STANFORD travels to Lincoln to match up against No. 8 Nebraska on Sun., Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m.

OREGON STATE sophomore Jami Lanz has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for February 13 - 19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Lanz, hailing from Eugene, Ore., etched her name into the record books with the 12th highest all-around total in Oregon State history (39.550). This total was also a career high for Lanz. She has been a model of consistency for the Beavers in her two seasons and this week, she put up a threesome of 9.900s on bars, beam and floor to win three individual titles. Lanz recorded an impressive 9.850 on vault to add to he stellar night. The 9.900 on bars and beam tied personal bests as well. With this remarkable performance, Lanz led the 16th-ranked Beavers to an upset of the 7th-ranked UCLA Bruins 196.650-196.375, marking Oregon State's first victory over the Bruins in ten tries dating back to 2003. The Beavers' score of 196.650 is the 19th highest team score in school history.

Oregon State hits the road to take on Seattle Pacific and Washington on Fri., Feb. 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Bank of America Arena for it's first of three road matches.

  • ARIZONA - The No. 13 Arizona women's gymnastics team fell to No. 3 Stanford, 196.400-195.375 this week ... Freshman, Brittney Morgan recorded a career-high 9.850 on the beam to help start Arizona's shot for a comeback ... Junior Danielle Hicks, ranked No. 8 in the nation on beam, matched her season and career-high with a 9.900 to win a second straight beam title ... Senior Jamie Holton recorded a career-high 9.875, which earned her a second place finish on the beam ... Next week the Wildcats host rival Arizona State on Fri., Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m., at McKale Center.

  • ARIZONA STATE -Arizona State did not compete this past week. The Sun Devils return to action Fri., Feb 23, at 7:30 p.m., when they take on intrastate rival No. 13 Arizona at McKale Center in Tucson.

  • CALIFORNIA - California fell short against Washington 194.800-193.025 at Haas Pavilion ... Junior Siobhan Luce tabulated a career-high 38.925, finishing second in the all-around competition. She matched her career-high on the vault with a score of 9.850, and posted a 9.675, to match her career-high on the beam. Luce finished the day recording a season-high 9.700 on the floor and a 9.700 on the bars ... California travels to Los Angeles to take on No. 6 UCLA, Cal State Fullerton and Denver on Sun., Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion.

  • OREGON STATE - The 16th-ranked Beavers were led by sophomore Jami Lanz, who used three 9.900's (bars, beam and floor) to score a career-high 39.550 in the all-around to win the individual title ... OSU's 196.650 ties the 19th highest score ever recorded by the Beavers ... In all, OSU gymnasts set or tied seven career-highs - Freshman Mandi Rodriguez tied her vault career-high (9.900) while setting her career-high on the floor (9.925); freshman Laura-Ann Chong set her career-high on the bars (9.825), sophomore Kera Bolen recorded a career-high on the floor (9.900) ... Next week Oregon State travels to take on Washington and Seattle Pacific at Bank of America Arena on Fri., Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.

  • STANFORD - The third-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team kept their undefeated streak in the Pac-10 alive with a solid win on the road at Arizona's McKale Center, 196.400-195.375 ... Freshman Carly Janiga added another all-around victory to her rapidly growing list of accomplishments, with a 39.425 ... Junior Stephanie Gentry (9.850) and sophomore Nicole Ourada (9.875) racked up career-high scores on the vault ... Stanford hits the road again next weekend when they head to Lincoln, to take on the sixth-ranked Huskers, No. 12 LSU, and No. 29 N.C. State in the Master's Classic at 2 pm on Sun., Feb. 25.

  • UCLA - The Bruins earned their second-highest team score of the season in a 196.650-196.375 loss at Oregon State ... Competing in the all-around for only the fifth time in her career, and third time since her freshman year, senior Ashley Peckett tied for second place in the all-around standings with sophomore teammate Ariana Berlin, scoring 39.25 ... Junior Tasha Schwikert and freshman Anna Li led UCLA with identical scores of 9.900 that tied for first place ... The Bruins return to Pauley Pavilion Sun., Feb. 25 for a quadrangular meet against Denver, California and Cal State Fullerton.

  • WASHINGTON - The 33rd-ranked Washington gymnastics team swept all the individual crowns and a 194.800-193.025 win over Pac-10 rival Cal ... Sophomore Ashley Houghting won three events including a career record-tying 12th victory on vault (9.875) ... Junior Nikki Waiss scored a 9.850 on the bars, sophomore Kelly Gilbert recorded a 9.800 on the beam and senior Tori Quandt also recorded a 9.800 on the beam, each earning their first victories of their careers ... Washington returns home, Fri., Feb. 23, welcoming No. 15 Oregon State and Seattle Pacific at 7:00 p.m.
