Bohannon, Caldwell and Shackleton Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

Senior Ashley Caldwell, sophomore Allie Bohannon and junior Kyle Shackleton have been named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Teams after their successes in the classroom and on the course during the 2006 cross country season.

Bohannon, who was UCLA's No. 1 runner during the post-season, achieved a GPA of 3.328 while studying history. She just missed a spot at the NCAA Championships and was eighth at the Pac-10 meet (20:47.91) and 11th at the West Region meet (21:39.90).

Caldwell, UCLA's No. 1 runner during the regular season and No. 2 runner in the post-season, achieved a GPA of 3.344 while studying Business/Economics. She was 15th at the Pac-10 Championships (21:16.91) and 19th at the West Region Championships (21:57.62).

Shackleton, the Bruins' No. 1 runner all season long, maintained a GPA of 3.762, also in Business/Economics. The junior led the Bruin men into the NCAA Champioships for the first time in over 20 years, placing 58th in a time of 32:04.50. At Pac-10's he was 15th (23:51.73) and finished 16th at the West Region Championships (32:04.5).

Both Bohannon and Shackleton will return next season to lead the Bruin cross country teams.
