Cassidy Krug Wins Again With 1-Meter NCAA Zone E Victory

March 2, 2007

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Cassidy Krug remained unbeaten in the 2007 postseason with a victory in the 1-meter competition Friday on the second day of the 2007 NCAA Zone E Championships at the Oklahoma City Community College Pool. Krug has now swept the 1-meter and 3-meter events at both the NCAA Zone E and Pac-10 Championships, earning Diver of the Meet honors in the conference event. Krug scored 617.60 points on Friday to place 34.80 points above second-place Marisa Samaniego of Hawaii.

'I didn't really think about it,' said Krug, who does not compete in the platform, about her sweep of the 2007 Pac-10 and NCAA Zone E 1-meter and 3-meter events. 'There's only one meet left [this season]. It's going to be nice to be able to just focus on the NCAA's.'

Sarah Ohr (15th, 470.90) also reached the finals for the Cardinal, while Shana Karp (30th, 209.05) dove in the prelims.

The three-day meet will conclude with the platform Saturday (10:15 am, CT/8:15 am, PT). A full list of divers that qualify for the 2007 NCAA Championships will be announced following the completion of the meet. The NCAA Championships will be held March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
