Rowing Prepares to open the Spring Season

March 13, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. - The WSU rowing team will begin the 2007 spring season with class day races on March 17.

Friends and alumni of Cougar rowing are welcome to join the squad at Wawawai Landing at 1:30pm.

Class day races are a tradition and provide an opportunity for the classes to race against each other, as well as alumni. The competition will also give the team a break from practice.

'It's an opportunity for some intrasquad scrimmage,' head coach Jane LaRiviere said. 'It's mainly a fun day.'

WSU heads up to Spokane on March 24 for a rematch against eastside rival Gonzaga.

The Cougars have not competed since the Head of the Snake on Oct. 28. The only regatta scheduled in November, the Head of the Lake, was cancelled due to weather.
