No. 23 Sun Devils fall to No. 12 Arkansas 196.175-195.125

TEMPE, Ariz. - In the first annual 'Flip for the Cure,' the Sun Devils fell 196.175-195.125 in front of 817 fans. Senior April Boone shined in her Senior Night, earning a career-best all-around score of 36.000. The senior captain scored 9.900 in every event. Sophomore Nicole Harris placed second in the all-around with a 39.250, followed by senior Cassandra Jusino with a 39.200. Arkansas' Casey Jo Magee also participated in the all-around, finishing with a 38.900.

Beginning the meet on vault, the Sun Devils scored a 48.800. Boone led the team with a first-place finish on vault with a season-high 9.9. Jusino followed tying her season-high with a 9.85, tying for second with Gym'Back Michelle Stout. Harris recorded a solid 9.825 on vault. Sophomore Ashlee Hinkle tallied a 9.725. The Gym'Backs scored a 48.550 on the apparatus.

The Sun Devils recorded the highest team bars score of the season with a 49.175. Boone placed first, tying her career-best with a 9.900. Harris was the next highest-scoring Sun Devil with a season-best 9.875 to tie for second with Arkansas' Magee. Jusino followed Harris, tying for fourth with 9.85. Tiana Jean recorded a 9.825 and Ashley Toner tallied a 9.725 on the apparatus. Arkansas compiled a team score of 49.150. The Sun Devils led after two rotations, 97.975-97.700.

The Sun Devils recorded the third best beam score of the season with a 49.075 in the third rotation. Boone continued to shine at her final home meet, scoring a 9.900 to place second. Jean posted the next highest score for the Sun Devils with a 9.85, her career-best. Hinkle followed, posting a 9.8. With a 9.775, Jusino secured ninth. Harris almost fell on beam, but fought to stay on to score a 9.75. Vanessa Rocca recorded a career-best 9.775 in an exhibition. The Sun Devils continued to lead after the third rotation, 147.050-146.775. Arkansas won beam with a 49.400.

The Sun Devils struggled on floor; however, having to count a fall. Coach John Spini took Hinkle out of competition after she fell short on her second tumbling pass. Toner fell in her pass as well. Boone finished her senior night scoring her fourth 9.9 of the evening on floor to finish first in the event. Jean performed a beautiful routine, finishing with a career-best 9.8. Harris also recorded a 9.8 on floor. Jusino recorded a 9.725 after being deducted .10 points due to stepping out. The Sun Devils posted a 48.075 on floor. The Gym'Backs won floor with a 49.075.

The Sun Devils end the regular season at No. 7 Utah on Friday, March 23rd. The following week, the Sun Devils host the Pacific-10 Championships at Wells Fargo Arena on March 31st at 5:00 p.m.
