Ten Buffs Participate in Pro Timing Day
BOULDER-Ten departing seniors from the University of Colorado football team participated in Pro Timing Day Friday morning as 21 scouts from 18 NFL teams were on hand to measure, test, clock and drill the players.
The morning's events started in the weight room where players were weighed and their body measurements taken. The group then moved into the Balch Fieldhouse where players ran the 40-yard dash and had their vertical and broad jumps measured. Some players went through position drills on the practice fields afterward.
"I feel like I did alright," defensive end Abraham Wright said. "[The scouts] told me I did pretty well for myself. It's just another venue to try and showcase my talents."
Wright will continue working out in the Boulder area until he returns to his home in Oklahoma City March 31. Up until the draft he will stay in shape and wait for NFL teams to call him if they want to bring him in for personal workouts.
The NFL Draft is set for April 28-29. A total of 111 players have been selected in the draft from the University of Colorado since 1973, at an impressive rate of one out of every 5.6 recruits that come to CU.
