California Falls to Baylor; Faces Nevada in Third Place Game

Honolulu - The Baylor Bears edged No. 25 California, 4-0 in the Bank of Hawai'i Invitational on Saturday. The Golden Bears square off against Nevada in the third place game later tonight.
Cal (21-12) could not generate much offense as Baylor starting pitcher, Lisa Ferguson, limited the Bears to just four hits on the afternoon for her twelfth win of the year.
Cal starting pitcher Lauren Frankiewicz held Baylor in check thru the first three innings before the Bears posted a two-run third inning to take a 2-0 lead. Miriam Romero produced the inning's big hit as her two-out single up the middle scored two runs.
Baylor added a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to take a 4-0 lead.
Frankiewicz took the loss for Cal to fall to 9-5 on the season.
