USC sophomore forward Amy Rodrgiuez recently returned from a successful trip to England with the U.S. Under-21 Women's National Team, where the U.S. squad took on three FA Women's Premier League teams from March 13-18. Rodriguez - who has scored 13 goals in her first two seasons at Troy - knocked in a four goals to lead the U.S. team during the trip, peaking with a hat trick against Everton.
Everton, ranked second in the Premier League, could not stand up to the U.S. team's offensive strength, as the USA posted a 6-2 win behind Rodriguez' three-goal outburst. All three of Rodriguez' goals came in the first 28 minutes of play against Everton. She also got to the back of the net in a 5-0 win over Leeds, which sits fourth in the Premier League, rounding out the trip as the USA's leading scorer.
Rodriguez has been a member of the U.S. national team programs for several years, seeing time with the full national team as well as the Under-20 team for international competition. Most recently, she was a member of the under-20 team at the 2006 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Championships in Russia.
