Anyanwu Sets School Record in the Discus at Jim Click Shootout

California senior Kelechi Anyanwu threw the discus a school-record 185-11 (56.66 meters) and a slew of Golden Bears teammate reached regional qualifying marks and times at the Jim Click Shootout.

Among those Bears was junior Brook Turner ran a lifetime-best 24.10 to move into 10th place in Cal's all-time record books in the women's 200-meter dash. Junior teammate David Torrence won the men's 800-meter run in a regional qualifying time of 1:50.23 and sophomore teammate Mark Matusak ran a regional qualifying time of 3:46.20 to win the men's 1,500.

Bears freshman Rowena Tam's 11:19.60 in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase moved her to third place on Cal's all-time list.
