Huskies Welcome Four New Football Players

SEATTLE - Head football coach Tyrone Willingham welcomed four new student-athletes to the University of Washington football program with the start of the spring quarter that began today.

Punter Jared Ballman (San Diego, Calif.), quarterbacks Chandler Clemons (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) and Ronnie Fouch (Redlands, Calif.) and linebacker Austin Sylvester (Reno, Nev.) each reported to campus over the weekend and began their first day of classes today. They will all participate in the team's annual spring practice sessions, which begin Monday, April 9 and conclude with the spring game on Saturday, April 28.

Following its 2007 season opener on Aug. 31 at Syracuse, Washington will return to Seattle for a pair of home contests against Boise State (Sept. 8) and Ohio State (Sept. 15). The Huskies will also play USC, Oregon, Arizona, California and Washington State during its seven-game home schedule. Away contests include UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford and the regular-season finale at Hawai'i.
