Conrad Sets Provisional Qualifying Score in Decathlon at Cal Multis

BERKELEY - California junior Steven Conrad reached an NCAA regional provisional-qualifying score of 7,214 points en route to finishing second in the decathlon on Thursday in the Cal Multi-Events Meet at Edwards Stadium. Earlier in the afternoon, Bridget Johnson, competing unattached, won the heptathlon with a score of 4,842 points.
Stanford's Josh Hustedt won the decathlon with a score of 7,286. Hustedt and third-place finisher Rickey Moody of Washington State (6,926) were also provisional qualifiers.
In the heptathlon, Utah State's Elle Cruikshank, who was second (4,667), and Western Oregon's Jacque Postlewait, who was fourth (4,561), both provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships.
