Women's Soccer Benefit Dinner

March 30, 2007

SEATTLE -- On May 18, 2007 the UW Women's Soccer program will hold a benefit dinner in the Conibear Shellhouse. The benefit will raise funds to offset rising costs that are not covered in soccer's general operating budget, which includes but is not limited to, coaching salaries, benefits, team travel, recruiting budget, and equipment. Properly funding these items is paramount to competing consistently on a National level.

The evening promises to be fun and exciting for anyone who is a soccer fan, particularly if you love the Huskies and women's athletics.

The event will feature current Husky coaches, student-athletes and alums, and will be highlighted by special guests and Husky alums, Hope Solo and Tina Frimpong.

Solo and Frimpong are both currently competing with the U.S. Women's National Team and will be representing our country this fall at the 2007 Women's World Cup in China. They are both also hopefuls for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

If you or someone you know wants to receive an invitation to this very special and unique event, please have them contact UW Associate Head Coach, Amy Griffin at amygriff@u.washington.edu with their name and mailing address.

Space will be limited, so don't miss an opportunity to get on the mailing list and be the first to respond when invitations go out in April! Don't miss your chance to affect the lives of UW Women's Soccer Student-Athletes: today, tomorrow and forever!
