Buffs Set to Scrimmage Friday

Apr 5, 2007

BOULDER-The University of Colorado football team will conduct its third scrimmage of the spring Friday afternoon with head coach Dan Hawkins indicating the live action will be a little harder than the previous two.

"We are going to try and get in 40 really good plays," Hawkins said. "We are going to get the ball and drive it."

The team will again mix in seven-on-seven drills and special teams work due to the shortage of offensive linemen. Junior Erick Faatagi, who aggravated a knee injury in drills last week, is not expected to return until next week, leaving the Buffs with six healthy linemen.

The scrimmage will take place?rain or snow?at 5 p.m. on the practice fields down the hill and north of the stadium. The practice is open to the public. Next week the Buffs will practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in preparation for the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m.
