UW-WSU Preview
A slew of Washington rowers, including 10 women's crews and seven men's crews, will travel across the state this weekend for the annual dual regatta with cross-state rival Washington State. Racing begins on Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. on the Snake River. The venue is Wawawai Landing which is located 15 miles west of Pullman, Wash. A full slate of men's and women's races is scheduled, including varsity, junior varsity and freshman eight-oared competitions along with races for four-oared crews.

Cross-State Rivals Race
The Huskies are bringing many of their top women's crews, including the varsity eight, junior varsity eight and varsity four boats. The UW women's varsity eight is ranked No. 10 in the nation while their Cougar counterpart is No. 19. The Washington men will also bring several crews to compete at WSU. The Huskies varsity eight earned the No. 1 ranking in the nation for the second-straight week on Wednesday.

Directions to Wawawai Landing
From Highway 195 (north or south), turn west on Wawawai Road. Travel on Wawawai Road for 10 miles until the road ends with a stop sign. Turn right and drive down six miles into the canyon. At the bottom of the canyon, go past the county park on the right and over the railroad tracks. The boathouse is a cinderblock building on the right. Park on the side of the road or in the parking lot south of the boathouse.

Looking Back: 2006 Race Recap
One year ago, the Washington crews hosted WSU, Oregon State and Iowa in a quad dual on Montlake Cut. The Huskies earned first-place honors in 10 of 13 races.

Fast Forward
Next weekend, the Huskies will travel to the San Francisco Bay Area for the Windermere Collegiate Crew Classic in Belmont, Calif. Last season, the Washington's men's and women's varsity eight crews each won two races and two Husky boats went undefeated during the two days of races.
