Kelley O'Hara and Rachel Buehler named to Women's Missouri Club Hermann Trophy Watch List
Aug. 8, 2007
Senior Rachel Buehler and Sophomore Kelley O'Hara were named to the Women's Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch list, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) today. Stanford was one of fourteen schools to have multiple players named to the list.
O'Hara this summer was a member of the U.S U-20 National team that earned a silver medal at the Pan Am Games in Brazil this summer. O'Hara finished the tournament with four goals and three assists in the six matches. Buehler, a fifth-year senior, captained the U-21 National Team to the Nordic Cup Title in Vassa, Finland. She also anchored a Cardinal defense in 2006 that recorded 15 shutouts and was ranked in the top 10 nationally for shutout percentage (.652).
Players are selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by a committee of Division I coaches who are NSCAA members. In November, the list will be narrowed to 15 semifinalists. Three finalists will be named in early December in conjunction with the NCAA Division I College Cup and will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club on Friday, January 11th. The winner of the award will be announced during a nationally televised news conference that evening.
