Tempe, Ariz. - Quotes from Head Coach Dennis Erickson

On the offense:'I am some what frustrated offensively. No doubt about it. We've got some talent out there offensively and we aren't executing like we need to in all areas. We've got a veteran front. We dropped footballs out there today. We are a much better offensive football team than we've showed in the last couple days. That's what upsets me. We've got some weapons. We've got some potential. But offensively we aren't playing the way we need to play. No question about it.'

On the defense:'I think it's a combination of both [offense and defense]. I'll go to the defensive side of the football. The thing we are trying to establish defensively is flying around, hitting people, creating turnovers. That is what we are doing. I don't know if we are the most talented defense in the world. But I do know one thing, we play hard. We fly around. We get to the football. And that is what it is all about. And that is what we have been preaching all along. Play hard. Fly to the football. Try to knock the ball. And play together as a defense and you'll be good. Right now we are playing fairly good on defense. Offensively I am a little disappointed. We have two weeks.'

On ways the offense can improve:'We just have to keep practicing. That is all you can do. We'll be in and look at the tape tomorrow. We'll practice tomorrow then give them a little time off. They haven't had a day off, period, since we've started camp. They'll get their legs back and we'll see what happens. Regardless, we have to play better and execute better.'

On Rudy Carpenter: 'I'm not worried about Rudy. It takes a whole team to do it. You can't put it on one guy.'
