Aug. 25, 2007
Stanford, Calif. - Stanford finished its 2007 training camp with an enthusiastic practice Saturday at the Elliott Football Practice Fields. The Cardinal players will enjoy their first day off in nearly three weeks on Sunday before returning to the practice fields Monday to continue preparation for the 2007 season-opener versus UCLA at Stanford Stadium on Saturday, September 1 (12:30 pm, PT) in a game to be televised live nationally by FOX Sports Net.
HEAD COACH JIM HARBAUGH
On The Team
'The plan is laid out, it's just the nuts and bolts of it right now.'
On Senior Quarterback T.C. Ostrander
'He played at a very high level on Thursday and again yesterday except for a couple of decisions. Today, he was back the same way. His eyes are moving fast; his lower body is moving fast. He's moving with speed in his eyes right now.'
About His Respect For Stanford's Defense
'No. 1 is he [defensive coordinator Scott Shafer] just has them playing together. They're really building a camaraderie over there on the defensive side of the ball, a respect. Scott is a very sound x's and o'x guys in terms of putting the right bodies in the right place. I'm very impressed with his schemes.'
On The Defensive Line
'I continue to be impressed with our defensive line with the quality starters and the backups, too. It's somewhere where we're pretty good both up front and deep, too.'
SENIOR QUARTERBACK T.C. OSTRANDER
On 2007 Training Camp
'We're growing and getting better, and I think the end result is that we're ready to play. I think everybody's ready not only from a football standpoint but just ready to stop competing against our own guys and start hitting other guys for a change.'
On Last Thursday's Scrimmage
'I thought the speed in which we executed and the crispness was probably the best I've seen the new staff has been here, and that's good news for us.'
On His Play Of Late
'It's gotten to a point where I just feel so comfortable in the offense that you stop thinking out there and you're never hesitant.'
Stanford's Jaquish and Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby addressed the team on the field following practice
