Volleyball Rallies Past Iowa State

TEMPE, Ariz. Led by Sarah Reaves' 14 kills, Sara Todorovich's seven total blocks and Sydney Donahue's 23 digs, the Sun Devil volleyball team gritted through a tough five-game match against the Iowa State Cyclones to take their second win of the season on day two of the Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Challenge. The Sun Devils are now 2-4 on the season and will wrap this weekend's tournament tomorrow at noon against NAU.


The Sun Devils came out to take the first game 30-24, led by Sara Todorovich's four kills and two solo blocks. Iowa State stormed back taking games two and three 30-22 and 30-17 before ASU pulled it together in game four with a decisive 30-21 win behind Sarah Reaves' six kills. The final deciding game five saw ASU come out to take the first point and never relinquish the lead after, winning 15-11, while racking up a .467 hitting percentage in the game.

The Sun Devils will wrap up this weekend's Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Challenge tomorrow as they take on the NAU Lumberjacks at noon, following the 10 a.m. IowaState vs. Long Island match. Both will be held at ASU's Wells Fargo Arena.
