Stanford's Foluke Akinradewo Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- STANFORD middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 3 - Sept. 9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Akinradewo, a junior from Plantation, Fla., was named MVP of the Stanford Invitational after Stanford was victorious over St. Mary's, No. 17 Cal Poly, and No. 9 BYU.
For the tournament, Akinradewo hit .547 while collecting 47 kills (4.70 kpg) in 75 attempts with six errors. She recorded double-figure kills in all three matches with a season-best performance of 21 kills in 34 attempts, aseason-high of eight blocks, and hit .588 in the win against No. 9 BYU, Stanford's sixth win over a ranked opponent this season.
This is the second weekly honor for Akinradewo, and Stanford's 60th Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
