Junior Tom Glissmeyer and freshman Tim Sluiter tied for 14th to pace the USC men's golf team on the final day of the 2007 Inverness Intercollegiate in Troy's season-opening event on Tuesday (Sept. 11) at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.

USC, employing three freshmen and playing without All-American sophomore Jamie Lovemark because of his recent action in the Walker Cup, finished eighth with a 34-over 886 (293-289-304). Florida State won going away with a tournament record 10-over 862.

Glissmeyer fired his second straight 1-over 72 to finish with a 6-over 219 (75-72-72), climbing the standings to tie with Sluiter (73-71-75).

Sophomore Rory Hie, who turned in rounds of 70 and 72 on Monday, fell back with an 82 Tuesday and tied for 30th at 11-over 224.

Redshirt freshman Bo DeHuff tied for 50th with a 14-over 227 (77-74-76) while freshman Gavin Reid tied for 71st with a 234 (75-78-81).
