Donahue And Reaves Lead Volleyball Over Florida A&M In Day One Of Crowne Plaza/Phoenix Airport Classic

TEMPE, Ariz. - Sydney Donahue collected 29 digs on the night while Sarah Reaves grabbed 18 kills to help lead the Sun Devil Volleyball team to a 3-1 win over the Florida A&M Rattlers Thursday night at ASU's Wells Fargo Arena. The Sun Devils went 30-18, 23-30, 30-28 and 30-25 to push to 6-5 on the season as Florida A&M falls to 0-4.


Game one saw the Sun Devils come out swinging as they compiled a .412 hitting percentage with Sarah Reaves leading the offense with six kills. The Rattlers came back to steal game two before the Sun Devils decided to shut the door in games three and four, with .310 and .319 hitting percentages.


Senior Sydney Donahue grabbed 29 digs on the night, which gives her 2,021 career dig kills, only 50 digs from tying the all-time Pac-10 career record of 2,071. She will look to possibly tie and break the record at this weekend's tournament.


The Crowne Plaza/Phoenix Hilton Classic continues tomorrow, with the Florida A&M Rattlers and VCU kicking off the action at 4 p.m. with the Sun Devils taking on the Tulane Green Waves after with a tentative start time of 7 p.m. All games will be held at ASU's Wells Fargo Arena.
