Volley-Blog: Christal Morrison
Sept. 19, 2007
Every Wednesday during the volleyball season a different senior Husky Volleyball player will write a blog entry for GoHuskies.com. This week we hear from outside hitter Christal Morrison, who was the Pac-10 Player of the Year last season.
So after the week in Florida we returned to the lovely rainy and cold weather here in Seattle. I gotta tell ya, I absolutely love Seattle and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else ... but, I wish we had a beach like the one in Jacksonville. It was absolutely beautiful and the water was incredibly warm. It was a long flight back but we were able to get some rest on Sunday, and Monday as well. Most people know that I am from Puyallup and most people should know Puyallup is known for The Fair. It's pretty much the best fair in the U.S., and it's the largest fair on the west coast! Well, I got to go down to The Puyallup Fair with Husky Volleyball alum Carolyn Farny. We met up with my mom and dad and my sister-in-law Shannon and my BEAUTIFUL niece Ashtyn Taylor (I may be a little bias but she is the cutest baby in the world and you can see her at Husky Volleyball matches with her little uniform that has MORRISON 9 on the back of it!!). Anyway, it was a great trip down to Puyallup and I enjoyed The Fair by getting a 'Fair Burger' and some cotton candy. Don't worry Jim, I'll work it off in practice!
We've had a great week of training and we are very excited to start Pac-10's with a road trip to Oregon. We leave tomorrow after our practice. I am especially excited because our freshmen don't know this, but every year on our 'road trips' when we take a bus the seniors pick out a song and the freshman one at a time have to sing the song out loud on the bus while they have headphones on so they can't hear themselves!!! It's absolutely hilarious and I will be equipped with a video camera so the memories will never be forgotten. If I get permission we might put them up on the web site ☺ haha, probably not though.
Anyway, it's a great day to be a Dawg and we are ready for the Pac-10 play to start!! We also can't wait for our home crowd, come October 4th and 5th!!! I hope to see that place packed!!
