Oct. 31, 2007

LOS ANGELES -- Former USC libero Nicole Davis has been selected to the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team roster for the FIVB World Cup held Nov. 2-16 in Japan.

The tournament, held every four years in the preceding year to the Olympics, is the first of three Olympic qualification steps to next year's games in China.

Davis has been Team USA's starting libero at the previous two tournaments this season -- the FIVB World Grand Prix and the NORCECA Continental Championship. She averaged 2.53 digs per set to rank fifth among all players at the World Grand Prix event held in August including 21 digs against China in three games on Aug. 4.

She was USC's first libero and a member of two national championship squads (2002 and 2003).
